UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP

PUCPR undergraduate students can participate in academic research programs to get closer to graduate research projects even before they begin studies as grad students. Through the Undergraduate Research Scholarship Program – PIBIC, students learn research methodology and techniques, build research projects and develop scientific thinking.

PIBIC International

PIBIC International supports exchange undergraduate students to collaborate in graduate research that is being developed by the time of their exchange.

This experience is guided by research faculty members and it also provides the students with interaction with graduate fellows.

Program duration: 4 months. By the end of the program, the students present an activity report, demonstrating their collaboration in the designated research project.

How it Works: Exchange students might show interest in a specific project during the application process. Once identifying the projects available, the students can get in contact with the responsible faculty.

Combined Degree

PIBIC Master is an opportunity for undergraduate students who demonstrate ability and interest to participate in research initiatives, and who want to globalize their experiences. Once in the program, students begin a master’s level research project, which will give them the opportunity to earn a master’s degree right after they finish undergraduate studies.

Scholarships are awarded for a period of 12 to 36 months. Eligible students must have completed at least 50% of their undergraduate studies and be able to dedicate time to research activities. Also, it is expected that students complete graduate courses along with their undergraduate ones. Thesis defense should occur up to six months after the conclusion of the undergraduate program.

While at PIBIC Master, it is possible to take a 6-month national or international exchange activities, giving the students the chance to conduct their research projects in another culture.

International – Combined Degree

The PIBIC Master International offers exchange students at PUCPR the opportunity to transition from undergrad to graduate programs through a research project initiated once they begin their exchange at our university.

Scholarships are awarded for a period of 12 to 36 months. Eligible students must have completed at least 50% of their undergraduate studies and be able to dedicate time to research activities. PIBITI | Innovation Technology Scholarship Program

PIBITI is an opportunity for higher education students to participate in innovative technology projects. Through PIBITI, PUCPR performs initiatives in collaboration with a national and international organization to develop technology solutions to challenges faced by our contemporary society.

If you are interested in participating in PIBIC or PIBITI, you need to:

  • Be an undergraduate student at PUCPR;
  • Get in contact with a faculty member who is developing research projects in an area of interest;
  • Develop a research project proposal with your professor and submit it, along with a work planning, in an annual validation process. The project’s approval is conducted by a group of qualified researchers from PUCPR and from partner organizations.

Once your project is approved, you will receive a PIBITI 12-month scholarship (August-July). The research results will be published in an online journal and presented at the Scientific Seminar (SEMIC), hosted at PUCPR.

Students who have completed one year at PIBIC or PIBITI can continue studying at the program through the national and international mobilities. This is an opportunity to gain to participate in research projects in different institutions, which will provide students with knowledge acquisition and intercultural immersion.

Institutional program for entrepreneurship and research scholarships

PIBEP fosters entrepreneurship among undergraduate students, helping them to turn great ideas into business projects. To do that, the program counts with well-known business professionals who work as mentors and lecturers. This way, PIBEP serves as innovation, research and entrepreneurship mini-MBA type of program.

PUCPR students from a range of undergraduate programs are organized in interdisciplinary groups of 3 to 5 members who will build a project. The project building process happens through group activities and hands-on workshops.

Program duration: 3 months. By the end of the program, the teams present their projects to startups, and investors, through the Demo Day event, where they can seek financial support to continue developing their projects.
