The PUCPR online classes comprise more flexible e-learning courses offered in Portuguese, ranging from undergraduate courses at 100% online, as well as full undergraduate programs offered 30% in-class and 70% online, and that goes for the extended education programs as well.
So to meet PUCPR excellency standards, the whole concept of the programs, disciplines and pedagogical method is based on the teaching by competencies, a newly adopted system by the institution, which can meet the expectations, wishes, and needs of society. In this sense, PUCPR prioritizes learning outcomes for the academic development of students, so that society can count not only on well-prepared professional but also on solidary citizens, aware and able to contribute to social changes.

PUCPR Language Center offers regular courses in German, Italian, Spanish, French, English, and Japanese. One of its unique characteristics, however, lies in the development of special curricular courses, prepared to fit the needs of the students such as Preparation Courses for Language Proficiency Tests (e.g. TOEFL).
The main objective of the regular courses offered is the development of fluency and of the ability to express oneself in a foreign language or in Portuguese. Through the presentation of everyday situations, the student improves their language skills in the main areas of listening, reading, speaking and writing.
