The VII SPIn has just started!

The VII Symposium PUCPR on Internationalization (SPIn) 2020 started this Monday (August 24), and is being held online, through the PUCPR official channel on Youtube. This year’s SPIn took advantage of its first-time online version to invite some of the most relevant PUCPR partners to debate and promote the development of strategies aiming at an ever-growing international environment for higher education.

The first session lauched the seventh edition of VII Symposium PUCPR on Internationalization (SPIn) 2020. Rector Waldemiro Gremski and Pro-rector Paula Trevilatto welcomed the participants, followed by the PUCPR International team annual report on internationalization initiatives and future projects.

The second session, hosted by Prof. Paulo Mussi (PUCPR), aimed at discussing on how an established partnership went further and resulted on a shared international campus in Florence (Italy). Marcello Fantoni, from Kent State University (United States); Jaewoo Shim, from Dankook University (South Korea); Nancy Hellerud, from Webster University (United States); and Prof. Marcelo T. Mira from PUCPR (Brazil) made sure to explain how this idea emerged, why Florence was the place chosen to establish the campus, and many other curiosities and essential aspects involved on a partnership of this level.

During the last session of the day, the audience participed actively on the live streaming comments, and a PUCPR professor, from the Design Undergraduate program, shared with us his art work based on this activity:

“On the Visual Thinking class (one of the Global Classes subjects), we work with graphic recording as a technique of sharing learning processes. Therefore, the illustration can be considered an emotional aspect that eases understanding and even popularizes scientific procedures”

– Prof. Rafael Camargo (PUCPR Design Undergraduate Program)

We would like to express our most sincere gratitude to everyone that spared some time to attend this event. However, there is more to come: today (August 26) we have two more sessions.
