In the opening speech, Br. Rogério Renato Mateucci, our esteemed Rector, expressed immense honor regarding the partnership agreements with two Finnish institutions: SEAMK University of Applied Sciences in Seinäjoki and the University of Oulu. He emphasized the significance of these collaborations and their positive impact on our University. Rector Mateucci underscored that Finland’s educational achievements are not mere statistics but the outcome of extensive efforts, public policies, investments, partnerships, and a welcoming environment. He acknowledged the shared vision between PUCPR and Finland, viewing education as a catalyst for nurturing humanity and shaping individuals into “Good Citizens” – reflecting PUCPR’s motto, “Gente Boa.”

During the visit, maintaining partnerships with universities worldwide was a focal point of discussion. The Finnish Ambassador expressed keen interest in collaborating with institutions like PUCPR, which prioritize research, innovation, sustainability, and solidarity. These pillars drive progress, foster academic excellence, and address future challenges.

By establishing international partnerships, PUCPR strives to align itself with global research trends, teaching methodologies, and internationalization efforts. These collaborations facilitate closer educational ties, promote knowledge exchange, and enhance the overall academic experience for students and faculty members. The visit from the Finnish delegation signifies a mutual interest in strengthening education and research collaborations between Finland and PUCPR, thereby fostering academic excellence and promoting innovative approaches in both countries.
