General Nephrology Master Class

Escola de Medicina da PUCPR promove evento internacional sobre nefrologia destinado a médicos e pesquisadores

These are the themes for the Master Class, an international event brought to Brazil for the first time with the support of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology (SBN). Master Class is an initiative of the Global Kidney Academy, an educational foundation dedicated to the dissemination of knowlege worldwide in the field of Nephrology, with emphasis on the prevention, detection and management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and its complications. The founder and principal speaker of the Global Kidney Academy, Professor Meguid El-Nahas, PhD, FRCP, of the University of Sheffield, UK, recently received “The Roscoe R. Robinson Award” in 2011 from the ISN for his efforts and accomplishments in the field of Nephrology Education. Professor El-Nahas has more than 200 indexed publications is the editor of Nephron Clinical Practice. He brings with him to Brazil, Professor Arif Khwaja, PhD, FRCP, consultant for the Sheffield Kidney Institute who has vast experience and knowledge in nephrological strategies particularly in the area of CKD.

Both are involved in the Online Academy, an educational site of the Global Kidney Academy that involves more than 2000 nephrologists throughout the world, particularly from Europe, Asia, and Latin America. (www.gkaonlineacademy.com)

The event will occur in charming Curitiba, at the campus of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUCPR) on April 13 – 15, 2012.
