GLOBAL CLASSES
PUCPR is the leading Brazilian institution in offering undergraduate classes entirely in English. In 2020, we took a step further towards the internationalization of our University and released the Global Classes Program, which offers an array of classes taught in different languages to both local and international students. The program includes options of classes in other languages and allows international students to complete an entire semester of study in a foreign language while interacting with Brazilian students, experiencing different cultural perspectives, and broadening their overall knowledge and understanding.
To attend Global Classes, international students must follow the regular application procedures, indicating the classes that will be attended at PUCPR. Please ask for further information at [email protected]

PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE PROGRAM
Our Brazilian Portuguese Language Program is free of charge and offered during the semester in three (03) levels: basic, intermediate, and advanced (total of 45 hours – 4 ECTs credits). Nominated students enrolled as PUCPR students may enroll after the placement test held during the welcome session (one week before classes start).
We are offering an online version of the ADVANCED level to students from PUCPR partner institutions. There is a limit of 40 (forty) participants. The application form will be open until March 11, 2024. Students must issue a CPF to complete the application (see instructions below) and send it by March 1st to [email protected]
The academic term is scheduled to commence during the week of March 13, 2024, and conclude in June, 2024.

- BASIC (IN-PERSON) / 4 ECTs: every Thursday, from 2:10 pm to 4:25 pm
- INTERMEDIATE (IN-PERSON) / 4 ECTs: every Wednesday, from 1:25 pm to 3:40 pm
- ADVANCED (IN-PERSON) / 4 ECTs: every Wednesday, from 4:00 pm to 6:15 pm
- ADVANCED (ONLINE) / 3 ECTs: every Thursday, from 9:40 am to 11:10 am (Brasilia Time Zone)
BUDDY PROGRAM
An initiative developed by PUCPR alumni participants of PUCPR exchange programs that aims at assisting international students in their cultural and social adjustment at PUCPR during their exchange program. The match happens after the student is admitted as a PUCPR exchange student.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH - SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
PUCPR Undergraduate Research – Scholarship Program, known as “PIBIC International”, supports exchange undergraduate students to collaborate in graduate research that is being developed by the time of their exchange. This experience is guided by research faculty members and it also provides the students with interaction with graduate fellows. Further information at [email protected]. Learn more here.
