On October 9th, the American Academy Professor Larry Terkel gave a lecture on “The impact of yoga and meditation in your life” for PUCPR community. During the lecture, Prof. Terkel explained some core concepts of yoga and  meditation, while talking about his life and how he got closer to the yoga relevant (public) figures, and how this has contributed the development on his perspective of the world.

Larry Terkel is one of America’s most experienced yoga and meditation teachers. Introduced to yoga at Cornell University in the late Sixties, Larry has practiced and taught for over 50 years. His life is an inspiring example of the incredible benefits gained from the practices he teaches and lives by.

Mr. Terkel, who is a Professor at Kent State University (Ohio – USA), had spent three weeks at PUCPR, teaching “Intro to World Religions” class to the American Academy students. The goal was to explore and focus on the world’s five major religions, which include Hinduism and Buddhism, along with Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Professor has also taught the students how to practice yoga and meditate, at a special room on our campus. The students will clearly miss Professor Terkel!
