International Congress of Mathematics, Engineering and Society –1rst ICMES 2009
The first International Congress of Mathematics, Engineering and Society –1rst ICMES 2009 will be an especial conference aimed to bring together Mathematicians, Engineers, Industry professionals and Educationalists interested in reflecting and discussing the mathematics on engineering, nowadays, facing up to new technological realities and societal challenges in a more complex and globalized world.
The conference will be focused on the links between mathematics, engineering and society and it will be biannual. In such a way, the conference will be a permanent forum to discuss the pedagogical aspects of mathematics on engineering curriculum and also to allow a permanent reevaluation of mathematics education.
Especially in its first edition the ICMES 2009 will officially occur in the year of France in Brazil celebration.
Concurrently is being organized an Arcus School on Thermophysical Properties that will occur in 08-09, October 2009, and this School will open the activities relative to the year of France in Brazil celebration associate to this project. The Arcus School on Thermophysical Properties will gather researchers and students that will discuss the new techniques and mathematical methods of this specific area.
